Club Location
We are very lucky to have the facilities at the Birdwell Community Centre for our use each Friday.
Birdwell is situated just off Junction 36 of the M1, south of Barnsley and north/east of various parts of Sheffield.
A sample map that indicates the Centre in relation to the nearest motorway junction (a handy landmark even for those on bikes) can be found by using the following links:

- From the A61 overpass junction to the M1 (Junction ##) ensure you take the Barnsley (South) exit, which is the only exit from this junction east of the motorway, and keep to the left as you immediately approach the roundabout.
- Keep to the left, to take the A61 into Birdwell, still towards Barnsley.
- After a few hundred yards, the road veers to the right at a junction with a minor road that features the Birdwell's 'obelisk' monument, the symbol of the club. Keep to the main road.
- After another similar distance of straight-ish road, having passed one other minor road to the left about half way along, Rockingham Street appears on the right. Carefully turn right into Rockingham Street.
- Watching out for the traffic lining the sides, and associated hazards, continue until the end of Rockingham Street and through the gates into Birdwell Community Centre's parking area.
(If coming from other directions, adjust as necessary.)
- On entering the parking area, you should try to park (if driving) in the area to the immediate left/back of the entrance, but this area may be busy, on meeting nights, during the departure of other Community Centre users.
- Wherever you find yourself, meetings are usually held in an extension built on the NW corner. From the main doors facing to the west (towards the A61 and motorway) take yourselves (and your bike, if necessary) clockwise around the building, through the gap between the extension and the separate 'pavilion'.
- A security fence should be on your left and the windows to the meeting room, then a double door on your right which should be unlocked if regulars have already arrived. If not, and there is no immediate sign of life or anyone to ask, you could do worse than wait around the main doors.
