General Information

At the start please do not stand too far out into the road when waiting for your turn to go. This is extremely important for all our start areas and, for your own safety, always be mindful of passing traffic.

5 Miles Thurgoland

Start on the A629 just north of Thurgoland, 10yds SE of Clearway sign near to the junction with B6462.
Proceed north-west along A629 to Hoylandswain TI.
Encircle island and retrace along A629 to finish approx. 20yds NW of start, opposite middle of field gate on that side of the road.

Riders must continue past the finish and TAKE GREAT CARE before turning.
Riders should not cross the carriageway on foot to find out their time, but wait until the end of the event when the timekeeper will bring them across.

Parking is in the short lane on the left before the start. No parking on the A629 verges except by the timekeeper.

5 Miles Park Spring Road

Start on the A6195 Park Spring Road at northern end of crash barrier on bridge, approximately ¼ mile north of Rotherham Road TI.
Forward to Houghton Main TI (1.05 miles)
Forward to Grimethorpe Colliery TI (2.48 miles)
Round island and retrace to Houghton Main TI (3.95 miles)
Forward to finish opposite start.

After finishing, riders must continue to the next island and encircle it so that NO U-TURNS are done on the carriageway.

10 Miles Park Spring Road

Start on the A6195 Park Spring Road at end of last drained kerbstone, just north of next-to-last lamppost, approx. 200m from Rotherham Road Traffic Island.
Forward to Houghton Main TI (1.18 miles)
Forward to Grimethorpe Colliery TI (2.06 miles)
Forward to Ferrymoor TI (3.05 miles)
Round island and retrace to Grimethorpe Colliery TI and then to Houghton Main TI (4.97 miles)
Round island and retrace to Grimethorpe Colliery TI and then to Ferrymoor TI (6.89 miles)
Round island and retrace to Grimethorpe Colliery TI and Houghton Main TI to finish opposite the start.

15 Miles Dearne Valley Parkway

Start on Dearne Valley Parkway, A6195, in northbound lay-by near first grate
Proceed to Cat Hill TI.
Take 3^rd exit onto A635, continuing to Goldthorpe by-pass, Hickleton and Marr to A1(M) junction
Encircle island under bridges and retrace along A635 to Cat Hill TI.
Left onto A6195 to finish opposite start.

Hill Climb, Stainborough

Start on the unclassified road through Stainborough at the bottom of the hill adjacent to the eastern gatepost of the first field entrance after the houses.
Proceed up the hill, past the entrance to Stainborough Castle College, to finish at a stone inscribed 'B' in the wall on the left-hand side of the road.

Park on the Strafford Arms car park.

15 mile circuit, Brierly

Start at the corner of Colliery Lane (cul de sac) and Barrowfield Lane by SY Foil Co factory.
Left up to Fields Ends TI (0.1)
Left onto A635 Goldthorpe by-pass to Hickleton (1.5)
Left onto B6411 Lidget Lane and down hill towards Thurnscoe where left onto The Windings (signed Thurnscoe Business Park) (2.4)
Right onto Barrowfield Lane (2.5)
Follow road round to pass the start and complete one lap (3.15)
Forward to Fields End TI and complete three more laps (12.60)
On the fifth lap finish on Lidget Lane at LP17 just before The Windings (15.00)

After finishing either straight on before turning carefully and returning to the parking area or turn immediately left as the circuit.

Park in the cul de sac on the left at the right hand turn onto Barrowfield Lane.

Hilly Circuit, Brierly

Start on B6273 at start of sliproad into unclassified road to South Kirby, near the Robin Hood PH crossroads.
Left towards South Kirkby on Common Road and left again after approximately ¼ mile onto Holmsley Lane.
Sharp left onto B6422 to A628 Hemsworth by-pass.
Left at traffic island onto A628 to next traffic island.
Left onto B6273 to pass start and continue for four circuits to finish at starting place.

Park on the triangle of grass at the junction, close to the path but not on it. Do not obstruct the vision of traffic using this staggered crossroads.
